The sentence reads:

This conjuction is attached to a noun that means “void.” So the translation is “and formless.”

BUT should it read:

This conjunction is attached to a noun that means “void.” So the translation is “and void.”

Thank you for your time. I took Hebrew in the 2000 winter semester at South Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary In Wake Forest, North Carolina. We had excellent professors but if you don’t use it you lose it. I enjoyed this morning just sitting down to see what I could recall.

GOD is not the name of owr Creator. If yo are familiar with the tetragrammaton, thats it.!!God is derived from the pagan God Baal/Zeyos. Besides, God is a title. Not the proper name of owr Creator.

I like the idea of explaining the pointing system, because beginners can’t read Biblical Hebrew without it, but it is very confusing.
For example “ee” as in “feet” is not a short vowel but a long one. The short “i”
sound would be as in “hit”–corresponding to the short “Chireq”
Also, the fact that the transliterations of the sounds you give use different diacritics for the vowels suggests different sounds, not all in the group corresponding to, say, “dark” or “weight”. For long Qamets, you could use “calm” or “father”; for the Patach, you could use “mat”.
Also, the Quamets-Chatuph might best be represented by the short “o” as in “top” (since the “o” in “go” is a long vowel not a short one.
Keep up the good work, but please help out the beginners!

So far this is the best I’ve found to help understand the various forms of some letters, the pronunciation of the various forms and still keep the letters in the order they need to be in for accuracy and for learing the song….thank you so very much….todah rabah!!
