I had a fantastic birthday! It’s my last year in my 20’s so I have to make the most of it!!! (whatever that means). My wonderful husband wrote me an amazing poem and also got me a gift certificate for photography classes (which I’ve been wanting for a long time)! I’m so excited! We also went out to eat in downtown Toledo at the Docks… the Real Seafood Co. yummm…! It was a great day. And the celebrations are not over, today we celebrate our 3 year anniversary.

*Ethan liked to suck on the lemon from my water!

Ethan has this quirkly little thing he likes to do that we think is just too cute. He doesn’t really play with his toys (unless we play with him)…. and as most parents know, kids would rather play with anything but their toys! So once Ethan has found the thing he wants to claim he will carry it around the house… all he does is walk with it in his hands or as you can see in the second picture around his neck. He takes the same route everytime… through the kitchen to the dining room, then into the family room and back to the kitchen. He could walk like this for hours it seems and he’s so content doing it! It’s great!

Right before we left for Florida, Ethan received his first haircut from his grandmother! His hair was getting just a little bit scragglely around the ears and in the back, so mom wanted it cut. So began the adventure.

We started the event by wrapping the little boy in a small apron to so that all that hair wouldn’t get in his clothes and make him itch. Looks pretty small doesn’t it? See all that flowing hair to remove…. The next step was to wet the hair and comb it through. When the scissors came out, Ethan had to take a good look before letting grandma use them! He’s not too sure about this. But with a little bit of entertaining and tasty treats Ethan sat still and got his hair cut with little comotion. He was a good boy for Grandma as she trimmed a little off the top, sides and back!!

Of course we had a few small clippings of hair to keep for the baby book! And when it was all over, Grandma was in still smiling and the little boy was left in tact, happy and with a little less hair! Thanks Grandma for the haircut!

We made it back from sunny Florida to find a cold, dreary, gray, rainy day at Detroit Metro! Goodbye warm weather… see you in a couple months! We had a great time in Florida and will have plenty of pictures to post and stories to tell. Now it’s time to recoop from our travels today… (got up before the sun to a ringing alarm at 4:15am!!).

Well this time tomorrow we should be well on our way to the sunny state of Florida! We woke up this morning to find a coating of snow on the ground and I spent several minutes scraping the snow and ice off the car before work. I’m ready for warmer weather!! It will be a nice time of rest and relaxation with our family. We are very much looking forward to it. So next time you see us we should be rested, relaxed, warm, and hopefully a bit tanner (and if you know me at all… more than likely a little bit red)!!

Well we’ve finally solved our washer and dryer dilema. No longer do we have 2 washers and 2 dryers sitting in our garage that do not work. We now have 1 washer and 1 dryer in our laundry room that DO work!! Erin is very excited to actually be able to do laundry again without feeling the entire room shake beneath the monstrous rocking of the washer! No longer do we have puddles of water below our washer, no more 100 minutes of drying clothes, no more worrying that our washer would spin and shake itself right through our floor!

We were fortunate enough to have family members to help us out! Erin’s uncle Bill works for Whirlpool and helped us get a new washer and dryer. Bill and his wife Peg, along with Erin’s Grandmother and Grandfather delivered them last night and stayed long to help us install them properly. It was such a great blessing to have that help!

So now Erin is doing laundry and I stopped home for lunch and just listened to the quiet tumble of the dryer. They don’t move at all! We are very happy and excited. Now does that mean we’re getting old when a new washer and dryer are exciting….
