So we have this huge cottonwood tree in the front of our house and right next to the driveway. Ugh! What a mess. When we bought the house we negotiated for the sellers to give us money to not only take down the tree but also replace the driveway that this enormous tree has destroyed with it’s roots. Here’s some pictures of the start of a wonderful transformation to make our house look presentable again.

There are still a few more smaller trees that need to come down but look… you can see our house!!!

Next is the driveway. We should have a new one by next week. Yay!!!

What a month August has been. We closed on the new house July 31 and have been working on it ever since. We spent the first 2 weeks up till 11 or 12 every night painting EVERYTHING in the house…. woodwork, walls, doors, cabinets, you name it. Painting takes a long time. We even had a “Painting party” to give us that extra “push” we needed to get everything done before we moved in. Thanks to our wonderful friends and family who came out to help us get lots of color on the walls… we couldn’t have done it without you! And we had lots of fun in the process! Here’s some pictures to reflect on the weekend.

Gram and Gramp were pros at cleaning the windows which desperately needed it! Look at the difference from the top left window to the right in this picture!

Kevin’s parents joined in on the fun too… they came down from Detroit! Thanks!!!

Gotta love the church family. Jens and Melissa were gracious enough to help us AND our pastor (painting and moving the same time we were) all in one day. We love you guys!

Kris and Heather also joined us from Detroit. They never quit! They painted 3 rooms for us, in 2 they put 2nd coats on!!!! What a blessing they were to have help!

Mom and dad (not in the picture) were huge helps too! Working late into the night many times to help us get things done. And then the following weekend helping us move in! Always going above and beyond! We so appreciate and love you!

Even Ethan wanted to get in on the painting. He grabbed his paint brush and bucket and knew what to do by watching us over and over dip our brush into the bucket and paint on the wall.

But he soon needed a break!

Well we closed on the both houses this weekend. We got immediate possession of the new house so we’ve been over there every night, sanding and painting, trying to get everything done before we move in. Here’s some pictures of the days we’ve been packing boxes and working in the new house. and then just some random fun pictures. I’ll post more before and after shots as we start to make a difference.

I guess I forgot to mention that we sold our house. We sold it while we were out west visiting Ryan and Heidi!… it sold in 5 days! Praise God. Thanks for your prayers … they were answered.
