Ethan’s new favorite thing to do is play with playdough. My mom made some for him this weekend and now that’s all he wants to do. So I made some too, now he can play at home and when he goes to grandmas.

Here’s the recipe for those of you young mom’s that need a new fun thing to do during the day.
1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Salt
2 tsp. Cream of Tarter
1 Cup Water
1 Tbsp. Oil
Food Coloring (optional)
Mix dry ingredients (the first three). Then add water and oil. Mix well. Cook over low-med heat stirring constantly. Cook 3 minutes or until mixture pulls away from pan. Place on level surface. Knead slightly until pliable. Cool and store in airtight container.
Mixture will be white. If you want all one color you may add food coloring at the time when you add water and oil. If you want different colors, break apart dough at the “kneading phase” and add different colors at this time.
ENJOY!

I know Ethan’s almost 2 years old but this is the first snow we’ve had that he’s been able to play in and really the first snow that’s been good enough to play in. He got a sled from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Heidi for Christmas last year (as in 2005) and he’s just now able to use it.

Gram and Gramp Smith came to visit on Sunday. We all went out to a new Asian Restaurant in town and spent the afternoon visiting at Mom and Dad’s. Grandparent’s usually never look at the camera when they’re busy holding a grandchild but we managed to get them both looking in this picture.

However, this Grandma couldn’t take her eyes off little Lucas.

Yea… we can put a car in the garage finally!!! We haven’t been able to put a car in the garage since we moved in. We were waiting to have the time to put a floor in the attic so we could move all our storage boxes to the attic. Last weekend Dave and Melissa (friends from Michigan) came down to visit and Dave helped Kevin install the floor. This past Saturday Kevin spent the day cleaning the garage and putting all our storage boxes away!!! The result? We can finally use the garage for what it was designed to do… store a car! And just in time cuz it’s been snowing like crazy.

This past weekend Ethan spent a few days with Grandma and Grandpa Vile in Detroit. He had such a good time, he didn’t even show signs of missing home… guess you can see why… a 2 year old getting non stop attention from 2 adults, who wouldn’t love that! Thanks mom and dad for loving on him this past weekend. I’m sure he’ll look forward to many more visits with you.

Lucas is one month already! Crazy! Time has sure flown by. He’s doing great and growing up so fast. We’re all adjusting well. Ethan is getting used to the baby being around all the time and I think he really enjoys it. He likes to do everything Lucas does. When I lay Lucas down on the play gym, Ethan climbs under and lays with him. The other day Ethan wanted to be wrapped in his blanket like Lucas gets wrapped. Ethan is a good helper too. When the baby is crying, he’ll go over to his crib and try to put his pacifier in his mouth. Or if Lucas is in his car seat and crying, Ethan will rock the seat to help him stop crying. … it’s too cute. Here are just a few cute moments I’ve captured.

Lucas got this booster seat for Christmas from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Heidi but Ethan loves to sit in it.
