Playdough

January 30, 2007 (2:31 pm) by Erin

Ethan’s new favorite thing to do is play with playdough. My mom made some for him this weekend and now that’s all he wants to do. So I made some too, now he can play at home and when he goes to grandmas.

playdough

Here’s the recipe for those of you young mom’s that need a new fun thing to do during the day.

1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Salt
2 tsp. Cream of Tarter
1 Cup Water
1 Tbsp. Oil
Food Coloring (optional)

Mix dry ingredients (the first three). Then add water and oil. Mix well. Cook over low-med heat stirring constantly. Cook 3 minutes or until mixture pulls away from pan. Place on level surface. Knead slightly until pliable. Cool and store in airtight container.

Mixture will be white. If you want all one color you may add food coloring at the time when you add water and oil. If you want different colors, break apart dough at the “kneading phase” and add different colors at this time.

ENJOY! :)

Please dont think I am a psycho, but almost everytime I read something about what Ethan is doing it is EXACTLY what Jack is into at the same time. I promise, he loves playdough! He just started playing with it in the last couple of weeks. That is probably what we’ll be getting him for his birthday.
