Ethan’s Visit to Detroit

By Erin | Published January 24, 2007

This past weekend Ethan spent a few days with Grandma and Grandpa Vile in Detroit. He had such a good time, he didn’t even show signs of missing home… guess you can see why… a 2 year old getting non stop attention from 2 adults, who wouldn’t love that! Thanks mom and dad for loving [...]

Lucas ONE Month

By Erin | Published January 18, 2007

Lucas is one month already! Crazy! Time has sure flown by. He’s doing great and growing up so fast. We’re all adjusting well. Ethan is getting used to the baby being around all the time and I think he really enjoys it. He likes to do everything Lucas does. When I lay Lucas down on [...]

Winter Wonderland

By Erin | Published January 18, 2007

Dispite all the craziness of the holiday’s this year, we still managed to make it to Winter Wonderland. Noah and Ethan had a great time… and we had fun watching them. There was this little mechanical clown that would do flips on a bar that was the highlight of the day for the kids. As [...]

Christmas 2006

By Erin | Published January 18, 2007

Once again, a little late, but here are some pictures of Christmas morning with Ethan and also Christmas with my side of the family. It was our first year celebrating Christmas at home. When Ethan woke up, Kevin brought him to our room to read the Christmas story out of Luke. After that we opened [...]

Grandpa Bob

By Erin | Published January 10, 2007

What an amazing man! As I mentioned in an earlier post, my Grandpa passed away this Christmas season. Wow, what a hard time. And totally unexpected. But I have learned a lot about Grandpa through his death. I always knew he was a great man and loved by everyone that knew him, but through his [...]

Samuel has a new room!!  Well, it’s a shared room, but at least he has a corner now!

I’m not sure our youngest, Samuel, is going to make it to his first birthday. I think our daughter is trying to get rid of him. I think she loves him, she talks to him and about him often. But she has also done things to make us think otherwise. When he is in his swing she likes to push it beyond what it was meant to go. She likes to poke his eyes. She threw his favorite pacifier into the garbage disposal (unknown to Erin until she ran it). She has picked him up and dropped him repeatedly (and tried to pick him up many other times). She has taken his blanket, covered his face with it and laid on him. She has put a marble, a pretzel, a piece of pizza, and other things into his mouth. I’m just not sure if Samuel is going to make it because his older sister is out to get him.

This is Ethan’s way of saying this room is off limits for Alayna. Now every door in our house, even Alayna’s own room, has this sign. Even the outside doors. It’s Alayna’s catch 22 - can’t go in, can’t go out.

We went to the Midwest Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati a couple weeks ago.  It was crowded!! Besides the fact that they scheduled the conference to begin at the exact same time as opening day for the Cincinnati Reds (~10,000 convention goers + ~40,000 baseball fans = no available parking + lots of frustration!) it was a nice trip.  Samuel enjoyed the big bed, Erin and I took the floor. ;)

When your Daring Child is also your Clumsy Child that child will invariably be your Injury-Prone Child.
