Kevin and I had the unexpected privilege to go out on a date this past weekend. We don’t usually get to go out on an “expensive” night on the town but through a series of events we were able to use two tickets to see Brian Regan (the comedian) down in Columbus on Friday night. If you haven’t heard him, you really must, he’s hilarious!!!! It’s 2 hours of side hurting laughter. We had a great time and it was so nice to get away together … Alone!

Our baby Ethan, is NOT a baby anymore! He is a big 2 year old. Scary! We had a birthday celebration for him this past Saturday. Great Gram & Gramp Smith and Grandma and Grandpa Smith came over to help celebrate. We all made personal pizzas and had cake and ice cream. Ethan had a lot of fun and I was exhausted!

At the end of the night we got to visit with Kevin’s parents in Detroit and Ryan, Heidi, Noah and Ryleigh in Colorado via web cam. Technology is so fun.

Our little man is getting so big… so fast! Here are some pictures from the past month.

He started to smile this month and has not stopped since! It’s so cute to see his little face light up when he smiles. Here are a few pictures of us trying to capture it on camera. Then we went to get some professional shots taken and he gave a great big one! Perfect!

We got hit with lots of snow and drifting last week… probably about 12″ total! It was great… Kevin got to stay home 2 days and we loved having him home. The second day, the wind died down enough for Ethan to go outside to help dad shovel… or should I say play.

Ethan wanted to help dad shovel so he went to the garage and found what he thought would work!

We had the privilege to dedicate Lucas to the Lord (formally) on February 4. It was a special day as Kevin’s parents came down from Detroit, my parents came to church and my grandparents came from Fremont. Our little man is such a blessing and we are grateful God has entrusted him to us. We pray his life will be one that honors the Lord and that God will use him mightily for his Kingdom!

When we moved into our new house our real estate agent got us a family portrait session with 8 x 10 photo as a gift. Well, we finally made the time to get that session done! We were waiting for little Lucas to come along so that we could get us all into the photo! The session was in town with a local photographer, who will be putting the pictures up soon for us to see. Hopefully they turned out okay. The boys cooperated, so we’ll see. Once they’re up well post some for you to see.

Kevin’s blog Words (also listed under our links at the side) has a new section called “Books.” If you are at all interested in purchasing Christian books, take a look over there. It’s an Amazon astore, so any books you purchase are through Amazon, but you help us out a bit (we get a very small percentage of the sale). It’s organized by general theology books on the main section, then you can look by author… like C.S. Lewis or D.A. Carson, or John Piper.
