So today I was cleaning our office, filing papers, throwing junk out, sorting, etc. Our office is not the most attractive place these days as our ceiling has a major leak in it so the paint is peeling, the drywall is bowing, etc. We also have inherited my grandpa’s old brown lay-z-boy chair. I’m not a big fan of lay-z-boy’s but… it was my grandpa’s and I wanted it. I figured I would just get it cleaned and it wouldn’t look to bad but when I sat down in it I was engulfed by the sweet, familiar, wonderful smell of my grandpa. The kind of smell that just takes you to a ton of wonderful memories as if you were right there with him again. So I decided there was no way I was going to get it cleaned. Well, after time, I guess smells change and as I sat in the chair today, it was gone. I knew it wouldn’t last forever, but it sure was nice while it lasted. It’s been a little over a year since he passed and it still sucks not having him around. We still miss you grandpa and you will be in our hearts forever!
