Restored
The heart of man is dark
Filled with foolish deceit
From this darkness proceeds
Evil and vain conceit
Man in this deep darkness
Can not change his sad plight
Try with but no avail
Death comes despite the fight
All men have in common
Observing it is vain
Because they’re unable
To fix the deep dark pain
What hope can one then find
When this darkness surrounds
Is life empty and vain
Is there light to be found
Inside we find we know
There must be some answer
Life can not be for naught
Answers must be out there
Man finds there is indeed
An answer to bring hope
A light to fix the dark
It’s just out of man’s scope
God is the only one
Whom with his still pure light
Can take away the dark
And end the toilsome fight
Through His good sacrafice
He gives to us the cure
He brings back all our hope
Change dark to light so pure
Man humbly on his knees
With a deep conviction
Can plead for this good gift
To God whose not fiction
And in His true, pure grace
Willing to give this gift
Lovingly will lean down
And restore.
