Shepherd’s Conference MacArthur Explosion
This post is currently being updated at: Premillennialism vs. Amillennialism
I might just be catching up with the rest of the blogosphere on this issue, but apparently John MacArthur’s lecture to begin the conference kicked if off with a bang! His discussion of Calvinism and Premillennialism
has prompted some discussion in on the web. Now I am not convinced yet of my theological position when it comes to eschatology (amil or premil). I grew up under premil doctrine, but am not convinced that Scripture supports it. I’m going to have to get the audio (when it becomes available) on this one and listen to it myself!
For now, the reports online provide some information on what the lecture said. From what I’ve seen from these sites, MacArthur was fairly dogmatic about his stance (but you’ll have to listen to the audio for yourself). I for one am still not convinced of a premil position. His argument from hermeneutics seems inconsistent, but I’m holding off complete judgment until I can here the audio myself. Here’s a recap of those that I am aware of who have posted on this subject, I’ve tried to categorize it for ease of understanding.

I’m sure this is just the beginning of the conversation. But is it not a good thing to discuss our positions and learn from one another? From what Tim Challies said, that is what John MacArthur intended to do, promote conversation about the end times. So, I am interested in your take. What do you think?
