Next Semester’s Classes

Next semester (summer) is going to come faster than I think! Therefore, I’ve already purchased and received all the books from Amazon, and there were a lot! Here’s the classes I’ll be taking:

1. Special Topics in Ancient Christianity taught by Dr. Phil Harrold.

The books required for the class are as follows:

Introducing Early Christianity: A Topical Survey of Its Life, Beliefs and Practices by Laurie, Ph.D. Guy
The Rise of Christianity: How the Obscure, Marginal, Jesus Movement Became the Dominant Religious Force …. by Rodney Stark
The Didache: Text, Translation, Analysis, and Commentary
Evangelicals and Tradition: The Formative Influence of the Early Church (Evangelical Ressourcement: Ancient Sources for the Churchs Future) by D. H. Williams

2. Biblical Worldview taught by Dr. Steve Sherman

The books required for the class are as follows:

3. OT Theology, Independent Study - I’ll be comparing several theological systems (Dispensational, Progressive Dispensational, Covenant, any others I should examine???) examining how they handle the OT. I’ll be working with Dr. Gary Staats on this class.

The books required are:

Toward an Old Testament Theology by Jr., Dr. Walter C. Kaiser
New Bible Commentary: 21st Century Edition by D. A. Carson
The rest are the ones I find for use in research. Any suggestions?

4. Theological Summit - One day seminar.

Hi! First, a word about how I found your blog … I was curious to see if other Winebrenner folks had blogs and did a Google and came up with yours. Honestly didn’t find others though I am sure they are out there. Anyway, just caught up with some blog reading after being a tad late on getting some spring trimester projects done and discovered I will be in your class this semester … I think. That is, if you are doing the intensive with Dr. Sherman. I’m in the MACD program, but it looks like MACD and regular students are all together.

Anyway, all of that babbling to say that I have enjoyed checking in on your blog from time to time.

Thanks for stopping by my little site. I had previously not known of other Winebrenner student’s blog sites, but now i’ll have to stop by yours periodically! Actually this semester with the Biblical Worldview class I’m taking it online as opposed to the week long intensive.
